2015 Pitch Day student participants with Scott Army

Second annual Business Plan Competition

Pioneer entrepreneurs from all walks of life - join us for the 2016 Business Plan Competition!

On March 19, 2016, the Scott Army '01 Center for Entrepreneurship at Saint John's will host the second annual Business Plan Competition Pitch Day

This exciting new initiative has grown rapidly at Saint John's as the spirit of entrepreneurship at the school has evolved in recent years. The Entrepreneurship Club laid the groundwork for students to explore what it means to be an entrepreneur through alumni involvement and guest speakers. Entrepreneurial Studies was soon offered as a course for upperclassmen eager to learn the ins and outs of business management, fostering ideas, generating products, and marketing their work.

Inspired by the enthusiasm in and outside of the classroom, dedicated alumni, including Scott Army, who graduated in 2001, became more involved with the program and in 2015 Scott worked to establish the first Business Plan Competition. This day of business proposals, presentations, and networking allowed students, alumni, and faculty to compete and collaborate with their own plans, sharing expertise and ideas.

Pioneering students, alumni, and parents are once again invited to submit business ideas for competition, with the objective to share ideas and establish networking connections within our community. Plans will be judged by a panel of judges. The top plans, selected from the submitted business plans, will present in front of the judges, who will select winners based on quality of plan and presentations on the Business Plan Competition “pitch day” on Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. All pioneers are welcome to submit ideas and business plans and participate in the presentation day! For more information, contact Chris Benestad, Entrepreneurial Studies teacher and Entrepreneurship Club moderator at entrepreneurship@stjohnshigh.org.
