Ms. Diane Mulligan
"A pioneer should have imagination,
should be able to enjoy the idea of things
more than the things themselves."
--Willa Cather, O Pioneers!
Breakfast with Books
We meet once a month to discuss reading selections over breakfast. Our members include students and faculty members.
We chose books democratically and our readings have ranged from current best sellers to literary classics to memoirs and other nonfiction.
Listen for announcements for our meetings!
- Want to read more for leisure but can't find the time? Try this: Read about 10 pages a day, which will take about 20 minutes. See each book as a series of pages, not as a whole that you need to read all at once. In a year, you'll have read 3,650 pages, or about 18 200-page books!
- The ICON, St. John's Literary Magazine, will begin now accepting submissions of poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and artwork in late September. See Ms. Mulligan or Mr. Smith for more details. Listen to announcements for writing workshops with our editors.
