Class Procedures for: Introduction to Religion and Scripture

Room 215

1– Students must report to class on time.

2-Class will begin with prayer.  Each student is expected to be respectful during prayer.

3-Once prayer has taken place there will be no more talking, fooling around, etc. as it is now class time.

4-Students must bring all necessary class materials each day.  These include textbooks, pens, pencils, planners, handouts, etc.  Failure to have these materials in class will result in the loss of one average point each time it happens.
The textbooks for the courses are as follows:
Introduction to Religion    THE LIGHT OF FAITH
                                             BIBLE

        Scripture                          UNDERSTANDING THE SCRIPTURES
                                               BIBLE

5-Respect for the teacher, each other, and the classroom (desks, bulletin boards, etc.) is expected.

6– Students should go to the restroom between periods or during lunch time NOT during class time.

7-Speaking out in class is rude and unacceptable. Please raise your hand when you have something to say.

8- Your name, date, and period letter should be placed on all submitted work.

9– a) Homework is expected to be completed and submitted on time.  Work will NOT be accepted late.  b)Homework will be checked and/or collected and points given.  Some assignments will be graded as a quiz.  If a student is absent for an assignment, he has two school days to submit the assignment for credit.  After two days it is considered a missing homework and given a grade of zero.

Students may email homework to me if you choose to do so.  If this is done, be sure to include your name, date, and period number.

10– Tests and quizzes are usually announced in advance but surprise quizzes are always a possibility. Tests are worth 100 points and quizzes are worth less than 100 points.  Tests and quizzes need to be made up within two school days when a student is absent.  Failure to make up the test or quiz within two school days will result in a grade of zero.
