The St. John’s High School Music Society
Background
Inaugurated in 2009, the St. John’s Music Society seeks to provide an open forum for aspiring student musicians to share their talents with the community. Students of all musical talent and ability are invited to work together in sharing musical ideas, performing in front of live audiences and even learning a new instrument.
Activities
The club will meet weekly and members will have supervised access to practice rooms and a performing/recording studio in the Ryken Center. Players will have the opportunity to perform at school functions such as Acoustic Concerts, school wide liturgies, prayer services, and gatherings of all kinds.
Additionally, students of all musical backgrounds have an opportunity to nurture their own musical talents with the collaboration of their peers. Musicians are able to develop themselves in the areas of song writing, performance, and mastery of their own instrument. The St. John’s Music Society works collectively with student musicians, as well as other existing clubs and activities on campus.
Club Membership
Attendance is on a voluntary and come-when-you-can basis.
Club Moderators
Mr. Michael Nicholson and Mr. Rick Connell are the club moderators and handle all aspects of club activities.
