Saint John's Appoints Michael Gondek '91 as Director of Alumni Relations

July 28, 2010.  Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. Saint John's High School (www.stjohnshigh.org) announced today the appointment of Michael Gondek as the school's new Director of Alumni Relations. 

A 1991 graduate of the school, Mr. Gondek went on to graduate with honors from
Assumption College in 1994, and earned a Master's Degree in Contemporary East European History from Providence College in 1997.  He served as a teacher in the school's Social Studies department from 1994-1999, and spent the last ten years in the enterprise software industry.  In 2003, he founded a software company specializing in labor management, where he served as CEO until 2010.  He was a 2009 recipient of the Worcester Business Journal's "Forty Under 40" Award, recognizing up and coming business leaders.  
 
According to Michael Welch, the Headmaster of Saint John's, "Mike’s many and varied interests and talents will serve our alumni community well, and most especially will serve our school community well as we forward the mission of Xaverian education here at Saint John’s."
 
Gary Carskaddan, Saint John's Director of Advancement, is excited about Mike's background. As an educator, combined with his business savvy and experience, Mike will be a significant factor in helping us to reach our Advancement goals; the primary one being to enable St. John's to deliver a quality, affordable education to families across Central Massachusetts."
