   THEATRE  EVENTS  AT  ST. JOHN'S,   2008-2009  SCHOOL  YEAR

Thursday 13 November to Sunday 16 November 2008     "SOUTH  PACIFIC"  by Rodgers & Hammerstein.  Classic World War II musical, currently a hit on Broadway.
   Directors:  Mr. Clark (Conal 214), Mr. Dolan (Flavian 405), Mr. Monroe (Conal 211), Ms. Denise Day (choreographer)

Auditions for the show:  Wednesday 3 September and Thursday 4 September, in SJ Black Box,  2:35 to 5:00 PM.  Prepare a memorized monologue and a song from the play.

Rehearsals will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 2:35 to 5:00 PM.   Some Sunday afternoons from 1:00 to 4:00 will be added in mid-October.


II.  Thursday 5 February to Saturday 7 February (one weekend earlier than on official school calendar)          WINTER  PLAY          For title, see Mr. Deedy, director, in Conal 215.

   Auditions will likely be held just before or just after Thanksgiving.


III.  Wednesday 1 April  (one night only)         ALL-FRESHMAN  PLAY

   Producer:  Mr. Deedy     Likely to be a selection of several one-act plays


IV.  Friday 1 May to Sunday 3 May      performed in the Coaches' Pavillion

          43rd ANNUAL  SPRING  SHOW

   Producer:  Mr. Lane  (homeroom, lower Flavian)

   Rehearsals on Saturdays, beginning Saturday 28 February 2009

   All-singing, all-dancing musical revue;  no storyline, no cuts.  Come and become involved!
