Our 11th Year at the Brown University Simulation of the United Nations

[PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND, November 9-11, 2018] ---

Twenty-five student members (and three faculty
moderators) of Saint John’s High School’s Model United Nations club arrived in Providence, Rhode Island on Friday, November 9 for BUSUN XXII. This year, we held our annual Team Lunch to open our National Conference season at Cassarino’s Restaurant on Federal Hill before Opening Ceremonies. Four committee sessions took place throughout the weekend, filled with 14 hours of debate and diplomacy in a wide variety of committees, and the conference ended with Closing Ceremonies on Sunday, November 11.

The objective for BUSUN is for all delegates to walk away feeling better about their Model U.N.
ability. That being said, special recognition goes to our six award winners: Ansh Patel '20, who won Best Delegate; Tom Donahue '19 and Tom Pickering '19 who were honored as Outstanding Delegates; and Tom Bitar '20, Ben Coderre '20, and Jack Romine '20, who were all recognized as Honorable Delegates.

Additionally, we tip our hats to our Head Delegates, Tom Donahue '19 and Caleb Rocha '19, and our three faculty moderators, Mr. Chuck Abdella '92, Mr. Kevin Browne, and Mr. Steven Favulli for all of their hard work.

Finally, big thanks to Foxy Travel and FTI Bus lines for transporting our 25 delegates to and from the conference. Our next big trip is in February, when SJMUN heads to Chicago for our 31st straight University of Chicago Model U.N. conference.
