Dr. Ruth Potee Presentation
Conal Hall - Coaches Pavilion - GYMDr. Ruth Potee Presents "Vaping, Marijuana & the Effects on the Adolescent Brain"Please join us for a speaking presentation on the topic of vaping and marijuana by Dr. Ruth Potee. The event will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 6:30 PM on the campus of Saint John's High School located at 378 Main Street in Shrewsbury, MA.
Dr. Potee gives thoughtful, well researched talks on addiction, substance use, and the development of the teenage brain to audiences of parents, students, medical professionals, teachers, school counselors, emergency medical workers, courthouse staff, law enforcement, correctional officers, and the general public. Each of Dr. Potee's presentations is tailored to the audience, so for the purpose of this presentation she will be speaking most specifically to the issue of vaping and marijuana.
The presentation is free of charge and open to the general public. We encourage not only Saint John's students and their families to attend, but also the greater community, as well.

Back To School/Curriculum Night
Conal Hall - Coaches Pavilion - GYM- THURSDAY, September 20th will be the Curriculum Night for the parents and guardians of Juniors and Seniors.
- The night will begin promptly at 6:15 p.m. in Coaches Pavilion – plan to arrive early to give yourself time to park – the evening will be run on a “crisp” schedule to be sure all blocks of the schedule are presented, concluding at 8:45 p.m.You will be following your student's schedule, walking between buildings, so please wear comfortable shoes and it sounds like, if you are coming out tomorrow night, you should have an umbrella at the ready.
- Finally, please come to Curriculum Night with an important piece of information from your student: the room number and location of your student’s homeroom. After our opening in Coaches Pavilion, our guests will be dismissed and asked to head directly to the student’s homeroom where schedules for the rest of the evening will be distributed. Knowing that first stop – your student’s homeroom location - after the overview will help your night get off to a smooth start.

Freshman Retreat #2
This retreat is an introduction to "Why we retreat" here at Saint John's, reflecting on and answering questions about their freshman experience thus far, and looking at what the "Ideal Saint John's Man" looks like 4 years from now when they are graduating. The retreat is led by faculty and senior leaders and takes place on four different Monday's during the first quarter of the school year on Holy Family of Nazareth Parish Center in Leominster.Contact: Kevin Abdo
