  • Saint John's Raffle Drive - Results are in!

Wow! Let's start by commending the efforts of our students and their families for the tremendous work done for the 2018 Saint John's Financial Aid Raffle Drive. Without their hardwork, we wouldn't have been able to reach (and surpass!) the goal of raising $110,000 towards financial aid at Saint John's. This year, our raffle drive brought in $112,100 - INCREDIBLE!

A special thank you to Warren Hayden '81, Director of Alumni Relations, for his tireless work in driving yet another successful raffle drive, to the Saint John's Moms who volunteered countless hours to process tickets, the students whose sales pitches drove great ticket sales, and to those within our community to purchased a raffle ticket in support of financial aid at Saint John's.

  • Inaugural Dad's Prayer Breakfast

The morning of Tuesday, October 16 was one of firsts here at Saint John's as we welcomed Dad's to campus for our inaugural Dad's Prayer Breakfast.

With a great turnout for the first event of about 25 dads, the event started with mass in the Chapel with Father Jose Rodriguez followed by a delicious breakfast. Headmaster Zequeira, also a current SJ Dad, welcomed the group and guided them with a few prompting questions in an effort to learn more about how to serve the SJ Dad community.

In their group discussions, one SJ Dad noted it was an excellent opportunity to gather with their peers and take a breather from their busy week.

Saint John's will be hosting many more Dad's Prayer Breakfasts in the future, so stay tuned Dads!

  • Q1 Interim Grades Posted

The Student/Parent portal is now open for you to view your student's Interim 1 grade report.  You will find the Interim listed underneath the "Progress" tab on your student's page.

Please note that Interim grades are calculated based on your student's work up to the "mid point" in the quarter.  Interim grades are not part of a student's permanent record (i.e., Interim grades are not calculated into a students GPA, not included on a transcript, etc.); rather, the Interim reflects your student's progress in his classes midway through the First Quarter.  Interim grades do affect a student's eligibility to participate in extra-curricular activities.

The end of the First Quarter is Friday, November 2nd.

We encourage you to contact your student's teachers for immediate questions about his grade, and/or his school counselor and assistant principal for academics for larger academic issues your son is facing.

If you need help logging into the portal, please contact Jane Harrington at jharrington@stjohnshigh.org

  • Important Note for Parents Regarding Saint John’s Email

    Jane Harrington
If you are not seeing regular email from Saint John's, your email might be getting blocked on the user side.  We send messages often through bulk email that uses the SMTP protocol to work, the same transmission protocol that spammers use to send out mail.  Because spammers are so ubiquitous, many email filters aggressively block SMTP, catching legitimate bulk mail along with spam because it's all using the same technology.

Please note the addresses we use below. You may have to add these to your safe senders list in order to receive email from Saint John’s.

    Welcome Back!

It's been a whirlwind of events heading into the 2018-2019 school year and the Saint John's faculty and staff are thrilled to welcome back the students for what is sure to be the best year yet!

On Wednesday, August 28, we welcomed to campus the Class of 2022 and transfer students for a day of orientation, liturgies, activities, and - well, fun! The following day allowed the same group of new students to explore the campus, meet their new teachers, and experience their first day together.

Today, August 31, we welcomed back all our Pioneers for the first official day of classes. Headmaster Alex Zequeira P'19 and Principal Maggie Granados addressed the entire school in the Opening Prayer Service, the freshman class experienced Temple Street as recounted by Mr. Bill White '60 and received great insight and advice from Dr. John Morse, Mr. Warren Hayden '81, and even a recent graduate, Jacob Hayden '18. The day wrapped up with ice cream for all to enjoy.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back to campus on Tuesday after a restful Labor Day Weekend.

And, to our newest members of the Saint John's community, let us say again: WELCOME TO THE FAMILY.

    Breaking Ground on Pioneer Fields

Early on Thursday, May 24, Saint John's broke ground on Pioneer Field - making way for two new turf athletic fields scheduled to be complete in the fall of 2018.

The morning's program consisted of a welcome message from Col. A. Russell Pytko, USMC (Ret.) '44, opening prayers from both Bro. Robert Flaherty, C.F.X. and Julian Rivera '19, a student address from Student Activities Council President Jack Fenlon '19, a blessing of the fields by the school's chaplain Fr. José Rodriguez, and remarks from Headmaster Alex Zequeira P'19. The program concluded with a closing prayer offered by Saint John's Director of Athletics Patrick White 'H.

The new turf fields will be a tremendous addition to both the Saint John's and surrounding communities. We invite all to join us for our first night games when the Pioneer Football team will take on Leominster on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 7 PM and the Pioneer Soccer team will host Marlborough on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 7 PM.

Members of our community interested in supporting the Turf Athletic Fields Project can contact Eric Butler '02, Director of Development at ebutler@stjohnshigh.org or (508) 842-8934, ext. 289.
