Memorial of our Lady of Sorrows
Good morning, St. John’s students, faculty, and staff. Let us pause in our day to pray. On the memorial of our Lady of Sorrows, we recall a mother’s grief and anguish at the death of the One she loved most, executed unjustly, and also a compassionate solidarity on the side of the disciple who took her under his care. Today, each of us is called to love, support, and care for those persecuted, left alone, and in need of some tender care and attention.
(Pause)
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
God our Healer and comforter, this morning, with all humility, realizing Your love for us, we bring before you our deep needs: for healing from our sicknesses and sorrows, for reconciliation with those, we have harmed, for resolution within our scarred nation, for peace to rule in our hearts. Especially give hope to those in suffering, who ache for voices now silent, who long for arms that can no longer embrace, pick up the pieces of dreams unfulfilled. Make way for them and each of us in our dry valleys and lead us to that place where your Loving Spirit will triumph. In Your Holy Name, we pray. Amen
Thank you, and have a spectacular day.
