SAINT JOHN’S SHREWSBURY TO LAUNCH ITS OWN TV CHANNEL
New school network delivers a unified platform for sports and other event broadcasts
SHREWSBURY, MA – (December 20, 2021) The Shrewsbury based Saint John’s Pioneers are launching their own streaming media network, named Pioneer TV, that will provide live event coverage for a wide range of Saint John’s events including everything from hockey and football games to school-wide events such as concerts, theater performances, masses, prayer services, and graduations.
The new Pioneer TV channel is sponsored by Fidelity Bank and will debut on December 20. Set to launch right from the home page of the school’s website, the network will allow students, parents, grandparents, alumni, and all other viewers, free and easy to access to live and on-demand Pioneer programming.
The new broadcast network will be powered by bBIG Communications, the owner of My Hockey Live and bBIG Live, which provides the school with professional level broadcasting services. In addition to new programming, all previous Saint John’s broadcasts from My Hockey Live or bBIG Live will be archived on Pioneer TV, offering viewers the opportunity to go back and enjoy games on demand.
“This puts us in the forefront of providing something new and unique for our current students, families, and alumni, as well as for those who may be thinking of becoming Pioneers in the future. We’re delighted to be able to offer our community this kind of professional live and on demand programming,” said Saint John’s Headmaster, Alex Zequeira.

We will be able to share their God-given talents not only in Massachusetts and New England, but across the country.”
It also adds another revenue source for Saint John’s as different sports and event media segments of games can be sold as additional sponsorship opportunities.

Igo said it is expected that over the course of a school year approximately 50 events will be broadcast to the Pioneer community. The partnership also includes the ability for Saint John’s to include information about the school to serve as an educational tool for those who may be thinking of attending the school in the future.
