PioneerFest Weekend 2017

The Saint John's community comes together for a weekend of food, fun, football & festivities!
What an eventful weekend for the Saint John’s community!

The weekend began a little early with a high-energy “Spirit Day” and pep rally on Friday for the Saint John’s students, faculty, and staff – all donning their red and white SJ apparel in anticipation for Saturday’s big football game against Shepherd Hill and, of course, PioneerFest 2017. The enthusiasm was unlike any we’ve seen in a long time.

An Open House event for prospective students and families kicked off our Saturday celebrations with more than 300 in attendance to tour the campus, visit with current students and faculty, and experience in-class demonstrations from many teachers.

Following the Open House, the Saint John’s and surrounding communities ventured down to Pioneer Field for PioneerFest 2017 – a day filled with food, fun, football and festivities. Whether it be the inflatable moon walk and obstacle course, lawn games, face painting, local food trucks, wing eating contest, live music or the much anticipated football game against Shepherd Hill – the event had entertainment for all to enjoy!

When asked who was favored to win the big game, Saint John’s English teacher, Ms. Hill, exclaimed at Friday’s pep rally, “I have no fear because it’s a great day to be a Pioneer!” And a great day it was as the Pioneers took home a ‘W’ at Saturday’s game. A special thank you to the SJ Superfans and the game's honorary co-captains from SJ State Championship Teams (Football 1977 & Golf 2007).

Thank you to all of those who made this weekend’s events possible and to our community of alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, friends and local community that made it such a great success!
