Breaking Ground on Pioneer Fields
Early on Thursday, May 24, Saint John's broke ground on Pioneer Field - making way for two new turf athletic fields scheduled to be complete in the fall of 2018.
The morning's program consisted of a welcome message from Col. A. Russell Pytko, USMC (Ret.) '44, opening prayers from both Bro. Robert Flaherty, C.F.X. and Julian Rivera '19, a student address from Student Activities Council President Jack Fenlon '19, a blessing of the fields by the school's chaplain Fr. José Rodriguez, and remarks from Headmaster Alex Zequeira P'19. The program concluded with a closing prayer offered by Saint John's Director of Athletics Patrick White 'H.
The new turf fields will be a tremendous addition to both the Saint John's and surrounding communities. We invite all to join us for our first night games when the Pioneer Football team will take on Leominster on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 7 PM and the Pioneer Soccer team will host Marlborough on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 7 PM.
