The date is October 30, 1939.  “The war scare was over.  More men were back at work...thirty-two million people were listening in on radios” when scientists first notice odd explosions in space.  Initially deemed inconsequential, scientists, politicians, and the world soon realized otherwise as countless Martian spacecraft began their invasion of a sleepy hollow called Grover’s Mill, New Jersey.
