Saint John's Soccer

The soccer program at Saint John's is about Mission, Excellence, and Brotherhood.

Everything we do in the program will be directed toward fulfilling the Mission of our school.  As a Catholic and Xaverian institution, we strive first and foremost to educate the whole person; body, mind, and spirit.  We believe that character matters.

We believe that by doing the little things well, we create an environment where excellence can be achieved.  Winning is the result of hard work and attention to detail.

We wish to enhance and promote the lasting memories and life long friendships that are formed at Saint John's.  We value the bonds of brotherhood that are formed inside and outside of the classroom, strengthened in a special way on the soccer field.


2020 Summer Opportunities:

During the summer, parents organize teams for summer soccer leagues.  These opportunities are not part of the Saint John's soccer program and are not required in order to play soccer at Saint John's.  

2020 Tryouts

If you did not play soccer at Saint John's last season, please fill out the following form so that you get up to date tryout information:


Tryouts will be held starting Friday, September 18.  Detailed information will be posted here as it is available.  At the start of Friday’s tryout, we will have a  2-mile run and a 40-yard dash.  Players must complete the two-mile run in under 14 minutes to be considered for the Varsity team.  After that, tryouts will involve small-sided and full-field games.  You must be cleared by the school’s nurse in order to try out.  Please bring running shoes, cleats, shin guards, and plenty of water to each day of tryouts.  Any questions over the summer can be directed to the head coach (mhughes@stjohnshigh.org)

Tryouts will be held in three groups over the three days with times as follows:

If you are unable to make tryouts or have an injury and are unable to tryout.  Please contact Coach Hughes prior to tryouts.
