SJ ties Prep at Home

Coach Smith
SJ hosted St Johns Prep on cold rainy afternoon on Wednesday. SJ started slow and let up a goal early on in the first quarter. With 2:20 left to go in the 2nd quarter JP Devaney ‘25 hit a banger of a 20 yard shot to the bottom left corner to tie the game at 1-1 heading into halftime. Early in the 3rd quarter, SJP did a nice job bring the ball in from the corner and in a hectic SJ box, the ball found the back of the net. Finally, in the 4th quarter, Gabe Devaney ‘25 trying to outdo his brother, also hit a banger but from potentially 25+ yards out to tie the game. The remaining minutes of the game were hard fought on both sides, but neither team could find the back of the net one more time so the game ended in a 2-2 tie. SJ will be back on the road next week for a series of away games in their last week of games for the season.
