Holy Guardian Angels, be our protector and guide
Good morning, St. John’s students, faculty, and staff. Let us pause in our day to pray. Today is the Memorial of the Holy Guardian Angels. Our faith invites us to one of the most consoling truths of our belief that God shows personal concern for each individual's welfare. The touching sign of this is that we are given guardian angels as protectors and guides throughout our life. Often seen as messengers of God, The Catechism of the Catholic Church speaks about guardian angels as - "From its beginning until death, human life is surrounded by their watchful care and intercession. Beside each believer stands an angel as protector and shepherd leading…to life. Already here on earth, the Christian life shares faith in the blessed company of angels united in God". As we celebrate guardian angels' memorial, let us seek their intercession to guide us in our everyday life.
(Pause)
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Today’s prayer is a poem written by  KRISTEN M SACCARDI
A Guardian Angel
Flew down from above,
To teach me a lesson
About the powers of love.
She whispered to me,
Then took hold of my hand,
There are so many things.
For you to understand.
About the powers of love,
And all it can do,
To someone who needs
To share it with you.

A pat on the back,
A kind smile on your face,
Can make someone's life,
A much brighter place.
It doesn't take much,
To show someone you care,
To give them the love,
God gave you to share.
So please keep in mind,
All the powers you possess,
To grace someone's life,
When they're in distress.
You've been put on this earth
To bestow the powers of love,
And with those final words,
She disappeared up above.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
Thank you and have a blessed day.
