SJ Welcomes Kurt Swanbeck

Alex Zequeira, Headmaster
As some of you may know, today is National Teacher Appreciation Day. At Saint John's, we are so blessed to have so many talented, dedicated faculty and staff members who make the Saint John's experience possible for our young men each and every day. Over the past year, especially, our faculty and staff members here at Saint John's have been tremendous ambassadors leaders, and innovators in our diligent efforts to keep our campus open for in-person instruction. I am so thankful for each and every member of our team for their service to our community.

'He’s going to bring our program to the next level.' St. John's thrilled with hire of Swanbeck

As we continually work to develop our programming and offerings to best meet the needs of our students and families, I am thrilled to announce the hiring of Kurt Swanbeck who will serve as the high school Dean of Students and Head Varsity Soccer Coach at Saint John’s High School. Kurt will also serve in a newly-created position, College Athletics Liaison. In this role, he will work closely with our student-athletes, their families, and their school counselors in preparing for and identifying opportunities to play sports at the collegiate level.

Kurt comes to us after serving 11 years as the Associate Director of Admissions and boy's varsity soccer coach at Hebron Academy in Hebron, Maine where he had a very successful tenure in both roles. Prior to Hebron, Kurt served as the Men’s Head Soccer Coach at the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY (2002-2009), Berry College in Mount Berry, GA (1993-2002), and at Clark University in Worcester (1988-1993).  During that time he also served as a staff coach for men’s and women’s teams in the United States Olympic Development Program and was named a collegiate coach of the year a number of times.
