SJ Welcomes Jim Dyer

We are excited to share with you the news of our most recent hire, Jim Dyer, who will serve as the School’s Director of Leadership and Planned Giving beginning on November 29, 2021.

Mr. Dyer joins us with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the College of the Holy Cross and more than fifteen years of experience in educational fundraising, including working within three comprehensive capital campaigns. He began his fundraising career at Holy Cross in 1999 in the Holy Cross Fund Office and has worked in both annual giving and major gifts at Assumption University, UMass Medical School, and, most recently, at Old Sturbridge Village, in a variety of individual giving roles, particularly in the areas of leadership and planned giving.

In reflecting on his new position here at Saint John’s, Mr. Dyer notes, “Having lived and worked in Greater Worcester for 22 years, I have long respected Saint John’s and its vital role in Catholic education in the region. Being a graduate of what is now a Xaverian Brothers Sponsored School, Saint Bernard High School, in Uncasville, Connecticut, I know personally how important and formative Catholic secondary education is in shaping young adults.”

He continues, “I am looking forward to joining the Saint John’s community at such an exciting time as we prepare to celebrate the 125th anniversary.”

The School’s Chief Advancement Officer, John Ermilio ’85, says, “Mr. Dyer's experience and success in mission-driven non-profits makes him a natural fit for this new position at Saint John’s. We look forward to welcoming him into our existing team of advancement professionals and to introducing him to our alumni, families, and friends.”

Mr. Dyer lives in Southbridge with his wife Kristyn and their daughter, Frances. Please join us in welcoming Mr. Dyer to our community.
