Team Effort Gets Squad Its Second Victory

The 7th grade soccer team had its home opener on the turf of Pioneer Field on Tuesday against Blackstone-Millville. From the first whistle, Saint John's dominated possession of the ball. After not one, but two goals were called back due to offsides, the Pioneers finally got on the scoreboard with a shot from captain Vincent Plante after a textbook give-and-go from teammate Jake Caldon. The first half continued with remarkable ball control, passing, and teamwork on the part of the Pioneers. The half ended in a score of 6-0 after David DaSilva, Arin Patel, and Danny Kristo each scored along with a pair of goals from Eli White. The defensive efforts, led by goalkeepers Eli Peck and Farzaad Hussain, secured the shutout for Saint John's and propelled the 7th grade team to a record of 2-0.
