MICHAEL FOLEY ’07 - Assistant Principal for Enrollment Management & Academics (Grade 9)

Michael Foley, a member of the Class of 2007, brings with him a deep commitment to the school’s mission and a background in Catholic education and student leadership.

Mr. Foley, a third generation Pioneer, has served the Saint John’s community in numerous roles since returning to his alma mater in 2011, including campus minister, history teacher, coach, and most recently, as the school’s Assistant Principal for Academics (Grades 9 & 10). His long standing dedication to the school and its students and families makes him uniquely suited to lead the Admissions Office into its next chapter.

“I’m incredibly honored and excited to take on this new role,” said Foley. “Saint John’s has been such a formative part of my life—as a student, teacher, and administrator. I look forward to sharing our mission and values with prospective students and families, and helping them discover the transformative experience that a Saint John’s education can offer.”

Dr. Benjamin Horgan, Head of School and alumnus from the Class of 2005, praised Foley’s appointment, noting both his professional accomplishments and personal connection to the school.

“Mike embodies the spirit and values of Saint John’s,” said Dr. Horgan. “His leadership, vision, and deep understanding of our community make him the ideal person to welcome the next generation of Pioneers. We are thrilled to have him stepping into this important role.”

Foley’s appointment signals a continued investment in fostering strong relationships with families and building a vibrant, inclusive future for Saint John’s High School.

TIM BARRETT - Chief Financial Officer

With extensive experience in financial leadership and a strong background in mission-driven organizations, Mr. Barrett brings a thoughtful and strategic approach to supporting the school’s long-term fiscal stewardship.

Mr. Barrett has held several senior financial leadership roles in nonprofits throughout his career, most recently serving as a Senior Advisor to the CFO at the Pine Street Inn, Boston’s largest homeless services organization. Prior to his advisory role, Mr. Barrett served as the organization’s Chief Financial Officer for seven years, and as the Controller for five years where he gained comprehensive experience in financial planning, reporting, and organizational stewardship.

After graduating from Boston College with a degree in Accounting, Mr. Barrett went on to receive a Master of Business Administration from Babson College and a Master of Education from Framingham State University. Mr. Barrett is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Massachusetts. In addition to his professional work, he has served as a minister and teacher at Saint Ignatius of Loyola Parish in Chestnut Hill, embodying a life of service, faith, and educational leadership.

In addition to his impressive leadership background, Mr. Barrett brings a recent, firsthand understanding of the classroom experience, having spent the past academic year at Marlborough’s Whitcomb Middle School following his call to teach. This time in the classroom reflects his deep commitment to education and provides a valuable perspective that aligns with our mission to form well-rounded young men in the tradition of excellence.

Dr. Benjamin Horgan, Head of School, reflects on the appointment, “We are excited to welcome Mr. Barrett to Saint John’s. His exceptional track record in nonprofit financial leadership and his deep commitment to the mission and ministry of Catholic education make him a tremendous asset to our school. I look forward to working with him as we continue to build a strong and sustainable future for our community.”

“I am deeply honored to join the leadership team at Saint John's and to help steward its financial sustainability in support of its vibrant mission of forming boys into men of faith and character,” shares Mr. Barrett. “This opportunity is especially meaningful to me as a graduate of an all-boys Catholic high school myself.”
