Tuesday, January 28

Good morning Saint John’s students, faculty and staff.  Let us pause in our day to pray. We pray for all those affected by unrest, turmoil, and war.
(Pause)
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
A Reading for the Gospel according to Matthew:
Do not fool yourselves that I’ve come to bring peace. Oh, no. Not peace, but a sword that sunders. There will be times when you must choose between my will and your father’s, or your mother’s, or your inlaws’.  Because of me, you will face enemies in your own household.
But anyone who chooses his father’s or his mother’s will over mine is not worthy to walk with me. And walk you will, and always toward the cross. Pick up your cross then, today, and come -- or you are not worthy of me.  If you hold back your self, your life will be lost. If you surrender your self, you will find life.
(Matthew 10: 34-39)

The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Thank you and have a blessed day.
