Good Morning, St. John’s students, faculty, and staff. Let us pause in our day to pray. Pope Francis has dedicated this day as ‘World day to Pray for the Sick”. So let us remember and pray for all those who are sick in hospitals, hospices, aged care facilities, and in their homes that they will not feel abandoned by God, but know that Jesus, who suffered for humanity, draws them close to him in comfort.
(Pause)
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Blessed Virgin, in your gentle holiness, please join in my prayer for those who are sick. Holy Mary, I come to you, in your closeness to Jesus, who can heal with just a word. When healing of body or mind is not to be, please help those who suffer to bear the pain and distress through hope of redemption and eternal life. Blessed Virgin Mary, you became The Mother of our Lord, and your heart was surely broken to see Him suffer on the cross. For those who are painfully afflicted, especially when their faith is sorely tested, please bring comfort, for you are our loving Mother, too. Amen.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Thank you and have a rejuvenating day
