Financial Aid Raffle Drive Winners

During the fall months, the students here at Saint John’s High School set out to sell raffle tickets in an effort to raise money for the Saint John’s financial aid program. In just three short weeks, our students successfully sold 12,040 tickets to their families, friends, neighbors, and communities. At ten dollars per ticket, we were able to raise an impressive $120,400 towards financial aid for our students.

This past Friday, students and faculty alike were full of excitement as the Alumni/Advancement Office announced the winners. A giant raffle wheel with all 12,040 tickets spun at Friday’s senior lunch period and the winners were chosen at random.

So, without further ado, the lucky winners are:

Barbara Gordon, Tim Lorden, Lou Ann Maffici, Matthew Toth, Melissa Bois, David Long, Tim LaJour, Karen Quinlivan, Rob Fuller, Bob Evans, Karen Gagnon, Aidan Lynch, and Jayden Fischer.

Mrs. Barbara Gordon was the extremely lucky winner of our $10,000 grand prize. Members of the Saint John’s community, including: Headmaster Zequeira, faculty, staff, current students, and even our Pioneer mascot, paid Mrs. Gordon a surprise visit on Friday afternoon at her home with a giant check, balloons, and lots to celebrate. When asked by a current student what plans she had for the money, Mrs. Gordon comically replied, “I’m going to Disneyland!”

Thank you to all those who helped make this raffle drive such a success, especially those who supported the Saint John’s students in their ticket sales.
