Financial Aid Program

As a school, we are committed to providing our students with the highest quality education at the lowest possible cost. We strive to make Saint John’s affordable by maintaining low base tuition and providing support to help supplement the cost of tuition. Standard tuition and fees for the 2024-2025 academic year will be $20,440.

Financial Aid at Saint John's

Through the generosity of Saint John's alumni, parents, and friends, a financial aid program has been established to assist families of moderate and low income.

Should you perceive that due to your family's financial situation you would be unable to afford a Saint John's education, we encourage you to apply for financial aid. We have been successful in meeting the needs of those families seeking assistance, and do not want finances to serve as a deterrent to your son's ability to obtain a Saint John's education. Awards are based solely on a family's assessed financial need in conjunction with the annual funds available through the Financial Aid Program at Saint John’s High School.

Applications are for the 2024-2025 school year, will be available starting November 1. The parent application can be accessed online at Blackbaud Financial Aid Management. Please download the Blackbaud Financial Aid Management Instructions provided under the "Downloads" for additional information.

The Financial Aid Committee will consider applications submitted after the appropriate due dates, but as funds are limited, it is advised that you apply as soon as possible. Award notifications for our new students will be included in the Admissions Decision Packet. For our returning students, notifications regarding financial aid awards will be emailed directly from Smart Aid.

Tuition & Payment Plans

Saint John's High School is pleased to contract with Blackbaud Tuition Management to assist families in managing the tuition payment process.

Blackbaud Tuition Management offers flexible payment plans (1-, 3- and 10- installment plans) and allows families to choose from many convenient payment methods.

Tuition and Fees are billed through Blackbaud Tuition Management agreements finalized in early March for returning families and beginning of May for incoming families.

Advanced Placement Exam Fees, Campus Ministry Retreat and Global Encounter trip fees will be invoiced separately through CampBrain.

Families are provided the ability to pay by mobile device, online, by telephone, by mail, or by enrolling to have payments processed automatically.

New Families: Accepted/Registered Students for the 2024-2025 Year

After acceptance and payment of the initial registration fee and deposit through the Saint John's website, all tuition payments will be processed by Blackbaud Tuition Management. The process begins in mid-April. Please review the "FAQ" download to the right for more information regarding the billing process and please be attentive to email correspondence from Blackbaud Tuition Management in April.

Q: How do I apply for financial aid?

Saint John’s uses the services of an outside agency ,Blackbaud Financial Aid Management [SMART Aid] , to calculate financial need and provide the school with a computational analysis of a family’s financial resources available for education. To apply, you must complete the Blackbaud Financial Aid Management [SMART Aid] online application.
Q: What happens after I have completed the financial aid application?

The Blackbaud Financial Aid Management [SMART Aid] computation process is completed approximately two weeks following submission, at which time the analysis report is forwarded to the Saint John’s Financial Aid Committee. Upon receipt of the Blackbaud Financial Aid Management [SMART Aid] report, the Financial Aid Committee will make decisions on award/work study allocations and each family will be notified by postal mail or email. For incoming students, the financial aid notification will be enclosed with the Admissions Acceptance Packet. For returning students, applications will be reviewed in the order in which they are received, and families will be notified by postal mail or email.
Q: Is financial aid automatically renewed each year?

No. Because family circumstances may change from year to year, Saint John’s asks that each family requesting financial aid reapply each year. Should your need increase or decrease significantly, Saint John’s is committed to meeting that need appropriately. To be eligible for financial aid and to retain assistance, students must be performing well academically, and be in good standing regarding discipline.
Q: What is the deadline for applications for the 2023-2024 academic year?

Financial aid awards are made in proportion to our assets so it is in each family’s best interest to apply as soon as possible. Applications are available through Blackbaud Financial Aid Management [SMART Aid] beginning November 1, 2022. Please understand that only those families who have completed an application and provided supporting documentation will be considered eligible for financial aid.

We ask that all families apply by March 1, 2023. Our Financial Aid Committee will continue to review applications received after March 1, 2023, for the 2023-2024 academic year, but as funds are limited, it is in your best interest to apply on or before the deadline.
Q: If an award is granted, how will it be applied to my Blackbaud Tuition Management payment plan?

If an award is granted, upon receipt of all supporting tax documents, the Financial Aid Committee will notify the Business Office to adjust the family’s Blackbaud Tuition Management contractual agreement.

Blackbaud Tuition Management Agreements will not reflect any Financial Aid Awards until the beginning of May.
