Saint John's to Host Official World Cube Association Competition
On Saturday, June 7, Saint John's High School will once again welcome speedcubers from New England and beyond for its fourth annual World Cube Association (WCA) Competition. Organized by the Saint John's Cubing Club under the leadership of Ryan Saito '26 and faculty advisor Mr. Pete Smith, Saint John's Warm Up 2025 promises to be a day full of fast-paced, high-level competition.

Representing Saint John's at this year's competition are Teddy Dobecki ’30, Aditya Jais ’29, Ashvin Jais ’29, Aryav Preejith ’30, Ryan Saito '26, Huy Thai ’30, and Arjun Vempati ’30. They'll be joined by Saint John's alumni Darren Saito '24 and Caleb Talley '19, both seasoned competitors.

The event is open to the public free of charge, and spectators are welcome to stop by and experience the energy and excitement of competitive cubing. Event details can be found at: https://www.worldcubeassociation.org/competitions/SaintJohnsWarmUp2025

Now in its fifth year, the Cubing Club at Saint John's continues to grow as a hub for first-time solvers and nationally ranked talent. This year’s event comes just one month before the Rubik’s Cube World Championship in Seattle, making it an exciting opportunity to see world-class cubers in action as they prepare. Both Ryan Saito ’26 and Darren Saito ’24 have qualified for the World Championship and will be competing at the event in July.

Good luck to all our competitors!
