Good morning, St. John’s students, faculty, and staff. Let us pause in our day to pray. It is with the deepest sadness that we pray with the family of Courtney and Mr. Ed Shoro on the passing of their baby boy and share with you the message they sent along:
John Michael Shoro came into our world and entered heaven at 4:38pm on February 25. He’s absolutely beautiful. Your prayers and love mean so much to us.
(pause)
In the name of the father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
Dear Father, We come before you as families torn by death – our children taken from our hands. God, we know this is not the end, though at times it truly does seem like it. We are crushed and perplexed. We don’t understand the purpose of going through so much pain and suffering, but we trust that you are here, weeping beside us. We trust that you know our hearts and our pain. Thank you for walking with us and carrying us through it. Lord, help us to trust you with the feelings that overwhelm us in these moments so dark we can’t see a way out. Let us remember that you know our hearts already. We can confess all our feelings to you and know you will still be holding us tightly. Make us strong in the face of what seems to be defeat. Help us to call out to you for our needs. We ask this in your Holy Name, Amen
We invite you all to join together as one on Friday afternoon at Jay Theatre, right after school, for a short prayer service to remember and offer our prayers to Mr. Shoro and his family.
