Good morning, St. John’s students, faculty, and staff. Let us pause in our day to pray.
As we begin this new school year, we have a lot to pray for -  the gift of family and friends, good health, endless opportunity to learn, a deeper understanding of life and human nature, and our responsibility to care for each other more. The list goes on, and there are more reasons we need to be grateful.
We also need to remember and pray for those affected by this pandemic - people who lost their lives, family members, and livelihoods.
We also pray in a particular way to heal AJ's grandmother, who is in the hospital, and all those struggling with different ailments of body and mind.
Let us take a moment of silence to bring all our personal prayers and petitions to our God.

(Pause)

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Lord God, we ask for Your help as we begin this new school year. Allow us to experience Your presence in the many blessings that You put before us. Open our eyes to the unique challenges and exciting opportunities that this new school year brings. Open our hearts and minds to new friends and new teachers. Please give us a generous spirit to be enthusiastic about our studies and the courage to accept new opportunities. Help us to be attentive to our teachers and experience Your presence in our new friends. Dear God, inspire each of us to do our best this year! In God's name, we pray. Amen

Thank you, and have a blessed day.
