Pioneers sweep Lancers in final home meet of the season
In their final home meet of the season on a beautiful fall afternoon, the St. John’s harriers easily swept Malden Catholic by a score of 15-45.
Running in a pack of 4 over the hilly 5k course, Tommy Robinson, Arnav Chatterjee, Sev Smith and Luke DePeter finished together in a time of 19:50 while teammate Teddy Conboy completed the sweep with a solid 5th place finish in 20:21.
In the JV contest, the Pioneers lost a close battle 27-28.
In the Freshmen race, Jackson Mitchell continued his winning ways in a season best of 10:11 over the 3k course. Blake Rice finished 3rd in 11:00 while Sean Hoban and Tanmay Jain finished 5th & 6th respectively in times of 12:37 and 13:15. Rounding out the scoring for the frosh was Tyler Horrigan in 7th place in a time of 13:19.
The Pioneer’s next competition will be at the Bay State Invitational at Devens on Saturday, October 7 @ 10:00AM
