Glennon Twilight Invitational - Race Summary

SJ Harriers Race to Personal Bests at Glennon Twilight meet on Cape Cod.
 
On a cool yet seasonal fall evening under the lights and in ideal race conditions, the St. John’s cross-country team raced to ‘personal bests’ over a fast 5k course at the Barnstable Fairgrounds scoring 322 points for an 11th place team finish.
 
In the Varsity race, senior co-captain Tommy Robinson ‘sniffed’ the 16:00 minute barrier with a 16:02 effort to finish 22nd to record a 17-second personal best. Following Robinson was sophomore Luke Depeter in 56th place with a new PB of 17:00 with fellow classmate Arnav Chatterjee finishing 80th in another PB of 17:29.
 
Rounding out the scoring for the Pioneers was junior Teddy Morris who broke the 18:00 minute barrier for the first time in a personal best of 17:45 while senior Teddy Conboy recorded his fastest 5k time ever in 18:22.
 
In the JV contest, the harriers finished 15th overall with 388 points. Leading the way for the thinclads was senior Chase Brush in 32nd place with a personal best time of 18:25.
 
In the 2.1 mile Freshman race, Jackson Mitchell finished 12th overall in a time of 11:45 while classmate Blake Rice finished 31st in a time of 12:38.

The Pioneer’s next race will be their last dual meet of the season as they travel to Danvers, MA to compete against SJ Prep on Tuesday, October 17 at 4:00 PM.
