Mooney Coaches Meet - Race Summary

Taking advantage of perfect weather conditions combined with a fast 5k course at the Wrentham Developmental Center, the SJ harriers competed well with most achieving personal best times for the 5k distance.

 

Leading the pack for the Pioneers in the ‘Senior Race’ was Teddy Conboy who bested his previous 5k performance by 22 seconds with a time of 18:00. Classmate Chase Brush followed in 18:23, good for a 2 second personal best while Morgan Creighton improved by 26 seconds with a 20:29 recording.

 

In the ‘Junior Race’, Jason Malo continued his improvement with a 17 second PB with a time of 18:36.

 

In the ‘Sophomore Race’, SJ’s freshmen ‘competed up’ in this meet to race at the 5k distance. Freshman Jackson Mitchell improved his 5k time by 34 seconds with a spectacular 18:13 posting while classmate Blake Rice improved by almost 2 minutes with an impressive 19:23 time, breaking 20 minutes for the first time! Sophomore Joe Berant concluded his season with a personal best by 67 seconds with a time of 23:10.

 

The Pioneers next meet will be the State Division 1 XC Championships at the Gardner Municipal Golf Course in Gardner, MA on Saturday, November 11 @ 11:00AM.
